Dex 6 & NP263

Just for fun here is a bottle of Auto Trak II, ( spelled as GM does it. ) It was made for Auto style NP transfer cases but for some reason it showed up as required for my 2008 MP Auto Trak transfer case. I’ll drop by and see if they still recommend it. Otherwise it’s Dex VI.

Here is a print out on my 3/4 ton Suburban with Auto Trac, suggesting Auto-Trak II to be used. This was on a 2008.

Did it have an "Auto" function for 4hi? If so, yeah, you need the FMs.

I didn't think any 3/4 or 1t got Auto, but I don't know about 1) SUVs and 2) GMT900s

I see no reason you couldn't run AutoTrakII in a standard t-case. 98% of the time something like an NP246 is just a standard t-case, with the ability to apply the front clutches a little or a lot when it wants to.

My 2008 3/4 ton has an NQH which is an electrically shifted 2 speed and on mine a MP 3024, 32 spline transfer case mated to a 6L80 transmission. It has a rotary dial and you can choose full time or part time 4WD and 4 low. I have been using Auto-Trac II for 18 years, changing every two years. It has 287,000 miles. We have been typically using it on snow and ice, but try to use full time 4WD rather than part time.

Squirrel: I wanted RPOs for an '18 the other day and it's all by QR code in the driver door jamb. I actually thought that was kinda cool....until GM rolls up that website like they JUST did the 800# for the old stereo security codes

Still, it was cool to be able to reference the RPOs on my phone......

So, they shut down the website for the series 800 stereo security codes?

I'd like be in the spaghetti sauce aisle when you're shopping..... :D
Try the 2 cheapest ones and get the one I like best

I like learning a bit about oil so next time I head towards this I already know. for instance I will also be using Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF™ in my 4l80e, as Allison te-295 allows for very little shear (7.5cst can shear at most to 7cst)
