Picked this guy up from Home Depot for mounting a hose reel on the side of the house.

- 1/2" chuck
- Screwdriver/Drill/Hammer drill function
- Made in Mexico

Was discounted on the Home Depot website and in stock locally.

Hammer function works very well, had no issue using a 1/2" bit to create the necessary holes in the masonry.

Probably overkill for the limited use it will receive, but we'll see. So far, pleased with the purchase.

So is this only for masonry? I’m just curious because I never have used one. If it’s for automotive then I want even though my coworkers will laugh if I buy a Dewalt tool lol but I’ll let them.

Nope, it's a regular drill/driver but also has the hammer drill function.

Nice I have the rigid version if it and works way better than I thought. I've pretty much retired my corded one for anything 1/2 inch and about 4 inches deep and smaller.

If that’s the $129 one what a good deal. HD has been having some great deals on tools, power and hand tools. Having the compact shape with hammer function and two batteries can’t be overkill. My old one from Ridgid weighs a ton in the hand, which over time really makes a difference. A visit to the doctor down the road for hand problems versus not. Made in Mexico versus PRC is a 100% plus for me, glad to see it.

Yup, was glad to see Mexico vs PRC as well.

That’s great. I will have to look at it. I’ve never had one with the hammer feature.
My guess is that they are built a bit tougher than the regular 1/2"driver? I've had the rigid version for 10 years now and its been abused abit. The down side is that the hammer function adds abit of length to the drill but the one that Overkill has is getting pretty compact again. I rarely have to use the hammer function but the drill gets used more than any other of my power tools.
