A blast from the past! Just talked to Steve the other day. I miss those Guru Reports days.

Just a note: While some of the product and pad suggestions may have been superseded by newer technology, the basic how-to-use-it instruction remains dead on accurate.

Good article... I think I am going to bite the bullet and get a porter cable. I bought a rotary buffer a couple years ago and think I had the balls to try it out, but I think I'm too scared to burn the paint... why do that when you can get pretty much the same results with a Porter Cable that is much much harder to burn the paint? In a couple of months I will be getting my moms black 2002 Oldsmobile Intrigue. It has always been garage kept and my dad has always washed it and stuff, but there are water spots all over it. I don't think they are severe water spots, but can't be taken out by hand. I would love to get a porter cable and take that stuff right out. Since it has been garage kept and taken care of decently, there is no paint fade that I can tell. If a Porter Cable can get the spots out it will be a pimp looking car.

cant wait to get mine either. nothing wrong with my paint other than some slight swirl marks from not using correct drying procedures, but now that I know what to use should not have any more issues.

I am going to use pinnacle xmt ultra fine swirl remover #1 , then wolfgang sealant then collinite 476.

duragloss stuff on girlfriends explorer, badly scratched
