Delo 400 40 WT

Put Delo 400 40WT in my 1984 Mercruiser 260's
I don't know how it will effect the oil pressure
as it is cold outside but the engines definetly
sound quieter than when using the Merc Oil

I imagine it would be fine. I would run the stuff in the summer in our boat.

Given your location, I probably would have gone with a 30wt if I were to be boating there in the late season. Water and air temps are going down fast... [I assume]

I used to use straight 30w delo 400 in my
Ford v-8. I switched to Delo 15w40 this year and have bveen very pleased with its performance. I was very hesitant at first to go with a multi-grade, but all the info on this sight said it was ok, which it was.

You have to check them out for yourself.
I tried many options and came back to Mecruiser.
I used the 30 weight, and it starts to vaporize at Powell and Mead, up in the high cold lakes the 40 weight slows the moter on starting but runs ok once it is warm.

On cold mornings when the breath while talking is visable, 40 is just to thick. I like Merc 25 40, and it is not that much more expensive and their are generic brands. I also like synthetic in my out drive, I could use 30 weight, but mine came with the blue in it.
