Defeated auto stop / start on my 2021 Traverse

I’m very glad our 2022 4Runner doesn’t have this. Unfortunately, the new Tacoma probably does, but who knows.
Right? Same with my 2022 Frontier. No stop/start. 2023+ has it, but does have an off button at least.

Hmmm, I can shut off stop/start in my bimmer by pressing the tab about the start/stop press button.

But you have to do that every time you start the engine - if you could turn it off and it stayed off until you wanted to turn it on - or stay on until you wanted to turn it off - it wouldn't be an issue.

The gov forced the car companies to make it "on" so it turns the motor off ever time you stop as the default.

Government hates you - they think they know what is best for you - and if you disagree they will kill you.

(only a slight exaggeration)

On my wife's 2015 X1 you can turn the auto start on or off with a switch and it doesn't default back every time you start the vehicle - once off it stays off unless you choose to turn it back on . Not sure why every car with auto start/stop doesn't have such a switch. It also shows you how much auto start/stop is hated as there are numerous cottage industry products available that allow you to disable it if the vehicle came with it permanently on.

My wife and I both really dislike start/stop. If her vehicle had come with no way to turn it off we wouldn't have bought the vehicle even though we both liked it a lot. You'd think manufacturers would realize they will lose some sales over forcing this upon the public.
