Dedicated winter tires 275/60/20 recommendations

how many miles did your Blizzak last?
Skip it. I had them on two vehicles. If you lack choices, fine.
I had them on BMW X5. Good, except nasty habit to suddenly brake in lateral handling on ice. There is no progressive loss of traction. They hold it, you think you are fine, and just brake off. It is known issue on that generation of Blizzaks including WS80. Second, they wear out super fast. Xi3 were far better tire in every aspect than DM-V2 except really deep snow.
X-Ice Snow will be definitely better than DM-V2. Check also Continental WinterContact 7. I had them, superb tire.

I have used Blizzaks and the X-Ice. The Blizzak DM-V2 was nearly superior to the X-Ice in every way, the only area the X-Ice was better was noise level at 60 MPH...slight edge.

The X-Ice is a very good tire, but the Blizzak DM-V2 is better IMHO.

I would absolutely choose the DM-V2, the braking ability is astounding along with unreal snow traction.
I was less than impressed with the dm-v2 which I ran on my 2017 and 2019 jeep cherokees.
I didn't like the ws-80( a dm-v2 in smaller sizes) nearly as much as the ws-70, ws-60, or continental extremewintercontact.
Also saying xice.. which xice.. xice xice 2 xice 3 xice lattitude ,2? xice snow?

WS90 on other hand is exceptional tire.

Not sure about your exact size but I've been running Toyo open country WLT1 winter LT truck tires on OE steel wheels on my Ram 2500 in SE Michigan.

I usually take off my aluminum wheels & switch over to winter wheels in mid-November/early December and travel to the UP for snowmobiling and they have been very good. Ran Hercules Avalanche LT winter tires before them for 7-8 seasons.

I've taken both the DM-V2 and WS-90 through horrible snowstorms in the upper peninsula of Michigan and both were confidence-inspiring even when the snow got so heavy that even headlights became hard to see. Both on a Mazda CX-5, DM-V2's on my 2015 (RIP) and the WS-90's on my 2016. I only went with the WS-90 because they are a newer model and were like $10 more installed this time around. If there are better studless winter tires when it comes to absolute grip, I doubt they're worth the price premium.

DM-V2 are really good in deep stuff.
In slick stuff, glare ice, etc. they are very unpredictable. They hold on the surface and without any progressive loss of traction just give up.

Leaning towards HERCULES Avalanache RT due to deep sipes close to the base of tire . Likely to purchase with studs . They have 2 other studdable winter tires available . Go to the HERCULES site for more specs .
