I've been researching but it seems almost all IP cameras in the mid-low price range have VERY mixed reviews...either app doesn't work, or can't view remotely from anywhere else other than LAN etc etc..it seems most amazon reviews are fake esp for the Foscam ones, per "real" reviews...(?)

What I need is a decent indoor IP/network camera with minimal remote tilt/pan capability, with night vision, that can be monitored via an iOS app, from OUTSIDE of the LAN, and perhaps via web browser as well.

PQ doesn't have to be stellar; 720p is more than enough.
don't need a lot of fancy features such as cloud based recording etc etc...
Indoor use only.

If anyone has any reccomendations for a decent one under $70 or so, please post (with link if possible).

Thanks in advance.

My daughter bought two from Tenvis last year. After hours of work connecting, she got them to work, so I bought two. I have never been able to get them connected to the wi-fi (instructions are in Chinese English), and one stopped working even on direct wire after two days.

Now my daughter's have both stopped working.

Thanks for confirming my doubts on those

- I saw some bad reviews on those on amazon.

I know this is a bit outside your budget, but we have a couple of these, and they work reasonably well. There is an app you can install on your phone to monitor in real-time as well as control the camera (rotate left/right and up/down).

You will also have to factor in the cost of a microSD card if you want to be able to record, but these cards now cost peanuts.

Thanks guys. Will take a look at both those. I really would like to have some way of moving the camera remotely.
Pete: Are you able to stream/monitor the feed remotely well, even when you're not connected to the LAN? Was it hard to setup ? I will use this mainly while traveling, so the remote part (as in from other locations, and not within the house) is important.

Yes, reasonably well. There were a few instances where their web server was congested/overloaded, but that didnt last long.

Not too bad.

I read an article recently about this camera, a YI Home Camera:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B016F3M7OM $59.95

The company (Xioami) has a history of releasing things the break the bottom of the market but are still desirable (A cheaper Go Pro camera was one of theirs).

Here's the article: http://www.slashgear.com/xiaomis-yi-home-camera-makes-its-way-to-amazon-21419381/

The Amazon reviews mention you need either a FB account or a Yi account in order to configure it, but all the video is stored locally on microSD card. After creating your account, you hold the phone in front of the camera which allows it to scan a QR code. Once it scans the code, the camera is connected to your WiFi.
