So, up until a few days ago I was not allowed to touch the mustang, at all. My parents were afraid of me driving it. Actually my mom is afraid of my dad driving it too, but he is paying for it so he gets that right. Anyway, she let me drive it, with her in it. Today, since my car is indisposed, she let me use the car to go see my girlfriend.. Well fellas, I take back everything I said about RWD cars. I never said they were bad, but I never saw the big deal about them, because I'd only ever driven the expedition, and the jeep, neither of which is a powerhouse.

Well, this thing MOVES. I don't know what people are talking aboutwhen they say the 4.0L V6 has no power. That thing Hauls buttocks. And the 5sp auto is fantastic, respnsive, always shifts exactly when I want it to and when it should. That thing powers through turns and on twisty roads. I want one myself now. 3.7? Who needs it!? The 4.0L has plenty of grunt. I still like FWD, but RWD is a blast. (No I didn't powerslide) But there is no torquesteer, unlike my car. (The 4.0L/auto also does 29mpg on the highway at 75mph by the way)

Of course it hauls compared to the 2200/3T40 Cavi.
At least it changed your tune on RWD. :P
Welcome to the dark side, we have cookies...
As long as you can 'bake' them yourself.

Mustangs are a lot of fun, especially the v8 models. I will never forget the first smokey powerslide in my '89 5.0

Drive the V8 one and you'll know.

I've always had RWD everything.
When was FWD ever "the thing"?

Welcome to the fun! Imagine what the new five oh our even my three valve must feel like with a stick..
Had a stroked and blown 84 way back when.. That was fun.

Either way to much power for a teen in my opinion. I started out driving a hotrod myself with gobs more power than many mentioned here... these hotrods Mustangs, whatever have killed way to many youngsters who can't control the temptation.. don't take this as a beating as I'm 34 and still can't control pulling all the way to redline just before shutdown etc... seeing just how fast it will go...

I pretty much agree. There are a few times where AWD is great, but FWD is never acceptable in a car with any sort of power.

Why would you do that? Go to redline in 1st gear or 2nd gear but doing it in neutral and then turning off the engine is not good at all.

I think the reason people say the 4.0 has no power is because the V6 Mustangs are outrun by most of the V6 four-door people movers.....

I'm talking about the EMC shutdown when the computer shuts the engine down a self protection thingy... This is done while driving of course.
