Damaged wheel :/

Wifey hit a nail too close to the sidewall to patch. So new tire it was. Got the OE tire to match the other 3 as they only have 12k on them. Unfortunately the tire shop inflicted some light damage to the wheel. Nothing major but it is noticeable, and frustrating as the other wheels and the car itself is pristine. Hopefully it shows up on video. I emailed the shop to see what they will say. I’ve had another tire patched at the dealer and the wheel came out completely unscathed, so I know this sort of thing is avoidable.

DT did this to the 2013 outback when new.. all 4 tires .. I buffed it and made it about 90% less noticeable, but it was very annoying since its avoidable if they just use some care.

At least you are in florida you wouldnt want to see that after a couple winters of road salt here.

What size pad did you use?

I dont remember it was something I bought at HF and used in a drill. been 8-9 years ago.
you should ask one of our pros such as @RooflessVW for advice on that.

I dont have the patience or energy for most high end detailing.
Ok. I’d be worried about holograms on the black finish.

I second the light application of wheel specific clear coat. It's amazing how it can mask minor imperfections.
