Dallas fans take a chill pill

I'm a Cowboys fan.....Always will be no matter what! Spent quite a few of my adolescent years in the shadows of Texas Stadium, Me & friends used to sneak in & watch the home games as much as we could get away with!
Most memorable game I ever watched it that stadium....NFC Championship, January 1, 1978 against the Vikings. THAT was a stout defensive showing!

The Cowboys have problems right now that will get them beat in the playoffs!
1. We're a warm weather team, This will kill us if we have to travel to Soldier Field or any cold open stadium.
2. Dak Prescott is as much a liability as he is a threat. A pocket passer he is NOT!
3. The O-Line is inconsistent, At least half of the sacks Prescott takes are because of linemen losing 1 on 1's.....When they do protect, They HOLD!
4. In game adjustments are non-existent & have been since Garrett took over.
5. Prescott NEEDS a good tight end for his style of play, Kelce, Ertz, Gronk, Reed level players!!

I can imagine Cowboys fans being quite irritating, Especially when your no where near North Texas! As I find displaced Eagles/Patriots/Steelers fans to be the same.

I believe the Redskins could have taken this weak division if it wasn't for Alex Smith getting hurt, Not that I really understood them getting rid of Kirk Cousins?

We haven't had much to cheer about this year until the last month.
Last night was something you don't see anymore, solid defense stopping solid offense.
Dallas passing game is hit and miss but Dak usually gets it done.
He is a good leader on the field but drives me crazy holding the ball too long.
Only bad about last night win is it probably saved Garretts coaching job.
I have been wanting him gone for years.
Oh well still a great win since nobody thought they could.

Right on Dallas...

Actual defense in this game... What a concept.

Funny to think... Pre sesaon... Everyone of the talking heads thinking Dallas defense was going to struggle a good bit.... Yet here they are in the top 5 in points allowed. Goes to show what the "experts" really know.

And for the record gang... Rarely and I mean rarely does a whizz bang great offensive scoring team ever win the Super Bowl...

Examples...

1983-84 Redskins... First team over 500 points.. lose 38-9 against Raiders...

1984-85 Miami Dolphins... First 5000 yd passing sesaon and 48 TDs obliterated old record of 36 btw...lose 38-16 to the 49ers who actually had a really good defense..

1990-91 Buffalo Bills with the no huddle spread offense.. With 3 future hall of famers on offense and cing off a 51-3 rout if the Raiders... No one outside of NY thought the Giants had a cats chance in you know where... Yet... Giants used their offense has their defense and had time of possession near 40 minutes... Win 20-19.

1998-99 Minnesota Vikings... Break scoring record in regular sesaon... Look unstoppable. Until a bad loss
and missed fg with 2 minutes to go and lose to the Falcons in NFC championship game 30-27..

2001-02 St Louis Rams... Lose in Super Bowl against Tom Brady and the Patriots 20-17.... Greatest show on turf ran into a physical NE team that actually slowed them down.

2007-08 NE Patriots break all time regular season scoring mark almost 600 points and lose in a low scoring game against NY Giants 17-14.. Ran into a defensive front 4 that pushed NE offensive line around and got your Brady many times in that game.

2013-14 Denver Broncos score over 600 points in regular season... Lose in terrible fashion to Seattle Seahawks 43-8... So much for Peyton Manning being the greatest of all time... Along with that supposedly "unstoppable" offense.. Legion of Boom 1 and Great Peyton 0.

One team did beat that trend of note here.. 99-2000 St Louis Rams... Kurt Warner had a MVP year and they managed to hang onto a 23-16 win over the Titans by one yard... One of the few times a great offensive team actually won the Super Bowl.

Cousins was never happy in Washington after the snubbing he took from the owner over RG3.

There was very little defense last year. Fly EAGLES, Fly

Well yeah... But neither of those teams broke ANY regular season scoring records...

Or did anything really different or spectacular either...

That game was garbage.

But I was ok with eagles winning.

My overall point is still valid based upon history.... Whizz bang offensive teams who shatter records and or do something different on offense than other teams... Lose with amazing regularity in the playoffs leading up to and including the Super Bowl.

2006-7 Colts were an offensive team
The 49'ers of the 80's where another offensive team. Their defense from the Colts set the wrong rushing yard records for the most allowed and the 49ers had good defense's not great.
