[Cut Open] New Pronto PO4651

I have a few of these around thought I would cut one open to post. One is in use will post after 3K.

60 pleats & thick canister it is .

Wow, looks surprisingly solid.

I was always tempted to order these on RockAuto since they are so unbelievably inexpensive ($1.61 for the version for my Fit and $1.66 for the version for my Taurus) but then I thought, naw, they're probably just cheap junk.

Edit: this actually the same model # for my Taurus. Interesting.

Does Pronto make them themselves or are they made by another major filter mfgr?

Made in China paja, is all I know about them. Made well like the DWs I have cut in the past . RA has a good buy like ya said

Prontos are sourced from International Distributing,which also markets the Premium Guard brand.Also the same as Parts Plus.

The big unknown is the filter material, and how effective it is.

It doesn't look any worse than the Napa ProSelect, but who knows.

That is a good looking filter and probably would catch most of the junk that might possibly hurt a motor. Thanks for sharing. I would use the others

I've purchased several of these for a VW from Rock Auto and they were made in Korea, not China, if memory serves.

I've seen both. I think some models are China and some are Korea. I've used both with no issues.

Here's a Korean manufactured one I cut open a while ago...

Upon visual inspection, you can't knock build quality.
How sad that global Chinese parts look better than some North American domestic parts.
