From 04 Neon. 5,000 miles.... Not sure how they keep the pleats so straight and even, but I like it!

Yep ... these are good looking filters. I wonder what the ISO test numbers are for filtering efficiency? I went to Mahle's website and couldn't really find a "xx% @ yy micron" rating.

Sure, fresh clean oil is also important. Fresh clean oil won't stay fresh and clean as the miles get put on the oil ... so you also need a good filter too IMO. I want both, and I think both are pretty important. If only fresh clean oil was important, there wouldn't be such a thing as ISO filtering efficiency tests and lots of oil filters on the market that are 99% @ 20 microns efficient.

Study that showing the correlation between wear and particle size, and the importance of a good oil filter.

Obvious pride in craftsmanship. Nice even pleats, no adhesive goo splashing all over the place. Every detail exudes care and thought. There is an old saying amongst aircraft people: If it looks right, it flies right.

Well actually most Mahle oil filters for passenger vehicles are made in Austria....but the Austrian's are from the German tribe, just the more old fashioned cousins.
