After seeing the Ultra cut open and it's good reviews I've almost switched all my vehicles over to the ultra.
Good simple construction with good quality. I like the proper size end caps on the media, no extra space around the fins like a Purolator product. Using a leaf type retainer I see they allow room for the ADBV to open nicely while maintaining a strong seal. I use one on a Chrysler mini van good to see the innards.

This is one of my favorite filters. Not a huge fan of the price, but they are convenient when shopping online at AAP when you need to reach a certain price point.
^If you have an oil / filter combination that you get a UOA on which shows it can go the distance you reset the OLM and let it run down again. Just keep track of the miles / months in use at whatever limits you cap your OCI at.
My BIL reset his OLM at least twice when he ran 21k miles on M1 AFE 0w-20 in his Honda Fit. He drives a lot of highway miles and put that on in about a year.
However, what he did not do is replace his oil filter. I've gotten on to him about it, but I don't think he really takes it to heart enough to do anything. We're talking maybe checks the oil level every 7,000 miles. I just asked him the other day when he was 'considering' topping off. He's at 15k and hasn't checked levels since 7k or 8k. He is considering running a 'shorter' interval this time, even though a year is coming up.
...and yet, his UOA looked okay last time. He had to add an entire quart to his 21k run last year at 18k miles. Now, imagine if he topped off the entire interval and didn't run it low?
