Cut open an STP and Purolator

Sorry, no pics, but...

They were both filters from auto-rx clean cycles. One from a 2002 3.5 altima (Purolator) and the other was a 99 LHS (STP). Each filter had about 1200 miles. Both cars have about 58K

The Purolator: Cut it open, media was pretty much evenly spaced, the endcaps were not a secure as I would have liked, and the antidrainback valve was still flexible. This filter had gritty grime, but it was minimal.

The STP: Media was very evenly spaced and very secure the endcaps, but there wasn't as much media. Also, the center tube support was like a plastic crate and not metal with holes. ADBV was still soft. The debris in this filter was smaller than grains of sand, and had near mud like deposits b/w the pleats.

Did the STP have metal end covers? If not, likely it was the new Champ Ecore. Along with the cartridge filter elements, they use the plastic cage. The cartridge elements have several year of use with problems ever reported here. The objective are waiting for more history on the Ecore.

What were the part numbers?
