I been wondering who makes these...I still don't know!

The filter was a PH16 equivelant from a 94 Jeep. Unknown milage on filter.

Has 7, 3/8's holes in the baseplate.

Metal endcaps.

Grooves and not holes in the center tube.

Black rubber antidrain thingy.

Leaf spring type spring.

Weird bypass valve on the non threaded end.

Now the bad!

Antidrain back was rock hard!

There were several tears in the element! One was almost as long as the paper was tall!

The paper was very brittle! Just touching it caused it to break off!

Any clue who makes this filter? I won't use one after what I saw today.

I am beginning to think (maybe I am just slow) that the filter change interval related to age is because the rubber in the ADBV hardens with age.

I went to an every 6 months in the 70's, cutting it to 3 months in 91 after a sludge problem and GM becoming more explicit about severe duty,

Pictures would help. How long was it on?

I don't own a camera! I guess I could go buy a disposable, take pics, have them developed then try to figure out how to post them.

No idea how long it was on the Jeep, judging by the rest of the thing quite some time.
