Let's talk about some of today's ugly automotive styling trends. Over sized grills. Grills have gotten way to big on many of today's vehicles, to the point of being hideous looking. Black plastic body panels that go all the way around the bottom of the vehicle. Most, if not all modern SUVs have this and it looks ridiculous. It also turns powdery white over time and has to be treated with some sort of trim restore. Matte paint. To me this looks like primer. Paint should be glossy. And the final, and ugliest of them all...black rims. Regardless of wheel style, or the vehicle they're on, they always make the vehicle uglier. Rims should either be chrome or polished...

I agree with all those points.

Who are you, and what did you do with Grampi?

I'm fairly certain you've started this exact same thread before, grumpi.

I'm with you on the black plastic trim.

High end cars, ugly black trim.

I'm also on team chrome instead of team paint.

Beauty is, and has always been in the eye of the beholder.
Weird paint colors are a roll of the dice. Some grow on me, and others remain ugly.
One recent style trend is black roofs, only the roof. Looks good for now.

Add oversized rims.
Where it's apparent imho is where the brake rotors are tiny. A rim can be like 10" larger than the rotor, and it simply exaggerates how small the rotors look. I get it, many don't look don't care. For example, if one did look, they would never get the muffler/tire chain rotors that have rusted hats in a few weeks. They likely have never even noticed the rust. I just think that rim > tire for unsprung weight, so other than wider tires, I go with the smaller or standard rims myself...

Truly ugly trend that actually existed with Audi 7 years ago......plastic blanks to look like exhaust tips, but they're nothing more than plastic pieces, there is no exhaust at all. CR-V did it with the current generation. I just simply don't understand "fake" stuff, and tacking it on at the factory. Let the Pep Boys handle it, throw them a bone, before they're completely out of business.

How about the headlights being placed, where turn signals formerly were placed. also, turn signals in the rear, being placed, where reflectors used to exist. i.e. much lower

Imho if car mfgs used quality headlamps, or even xenon ones from 15 years ago, there would be no need to "relocate" headlamps. I know the Tahoe High Country I want to get, has the headlamps relocated as I describe. I believe it's so they can still use cheap headlamps, and blind oncoming traffic less than today.

First time I saw one of these approach me head on I thought, "Wow, that's too bad. A brand new car getting smacked and having half its front fender ripped off."
