Current Oils with Dexos 1 Gen 3 approval?

Numerous major brands have removed their Dexos approval in recent months due to the ongoing industry issues. Does anyone know which Dexos options remain available for in-warranty vehicles? The GM site does not appear to be updated.

Not many left at my walmart I did see the other day they had some Pennzoil Platinum Dexos.

Kirkland full synthetic is still Dexos 1.3. Havoline, Castrol Edge.

Theoretically, what happens if all/most Dexos “approved” oils are no longer available? The same oil jug that used to be Dexos no longer is.

Will GM start blaming the lack of Dexos for engine issues?

I ask this in regards to people who insist Dexos is required for their engine.

I’d say that would be a bit disingenuous since GM doesn’t require a dexos oil.

In spite of the current situation, there will still be at least some oil company's that will cough up a dexos gen 3 approved oil. without up chucking a non-approved oil, mostly the popular name brands will have some.

I think it is just more expensive. We will see if the GTL base oil shortage will cause a change in some formulas. I notice less Pennzoil Ultra Plat in my local stores. Walmart is out.

Just checked my Walmart. Current Dexos.

Mobil 1 vanilla, AFE, EP.
Pennzoil Platinum
Castrol Edge EP
Quaker State Synthetic

Very little 5W-30 in all flavors. More 0W-20 available.

All Supertech flavors have lost Dexos.
