For wear, noise and oil consumption, M1 sucks IMO.
I guess you are entitled to your opinion, however much of a misnomer and how false it may be!
1) I have never experineced wear to any degree in any of the dozens of engines I have used M1 on in almost thrity years. Neither had my father. I back this with a complete history of UOA that show that scientifically. I have had many cars and trucks do up to and over 200,000 miles, with no wear. One was a 1969 Chevy half ton that went over 400K miles, and was sold and may be still going today.
2) Some claim this to be so. I have NEVER heard more noise from any engine I used M1 in versus the orignal oil used in factory fill.
3) Gee, I never put any makeup oil in any of my current or recent engines! None. I just did a 9500 mile OCI with my Honda Element. No make up oil. My Dodge Truck? 9,000 OCI, no Make up oil. Yes, My Lincoln Mark VIII needed a quart at 6000 miles. Oh well! There goes the rules! (I changed that at a 6600 mile OCI, and would just change the oil, instead of adding a quart!
Sorry, But your gloom and doom do not hold true.
