Cross climate 2 after 20,000 miles

Kind of reminds me of the Michelin HydroEdge tire. I had a set on a 2004 PT Cruiser and it was a great tire...

It would give me a good reason to ditch them after winter... either a set of Defender 2/Costco X-tour A/s-2 or Nokian Tyres One, and start working on getting an extra set of wheels from a 2020+ Highlander 18x8" wheels or Lexus RX350 18x8" wheels and decide between Nokian WR G4 SUV (again) or try the Nokian Outpost APT.

So it seems you are not happy with these tires? I was seriously thinking of changing my Defender LTX M/S for these. It seems as though the tread is much softer with that small piece of metal sticking inside of it. Yes ? No?

They wear much better than Nokian W4 G4 SUV... but they are downright lousy in deep, fresh heavy snow. The Nokians are a better winter tire, at the expense of wear in the warmer conditions

Oh so just to be clear despite the fact that they say they are good in snow...you are saying the CC2's are NOT good in deep snow?
Do you feel the tire composition is too soft and squishy for the CC2's? I can't get dedicated snow tires, I don't have the room in my garage for them.

Thanks Wheel! Good to know. My Defender's are new,..so I am hoping I have at least some grip this winter here in Michigan. I have a Pilot 4WD so that should help. I have just read that the tire compound of the CC2's is very soft and does not last as log as the Defender's. I am going to see how this winter is and if not,...I am going to change them out. I had Defender's before these new ones,...the CC2's were backordered and I did not want to wait 4 weeks, not knowing how much or if we were going to get snow. My previous Defender's needed to be replaced.

They are great after the plows come through

But the long tread blocks that makes it good in the dry don’t dig into heavy snow too well

We'll see... I got a set ordered for my other car too and have them scheduled to be installed on the 12th I believe. In my case, they should be better than the OE Goodyears that were installed. At least I hope!

I'm not in Michigan. I would say you get a LOT more snow than we do in Jersey. If I was in Michigin, I would get two sets of rims and tires. I did that for my S4. However, owning my own house now and having kids I do not have the room to store additional rims and tires nor the money to do so. Hoping that the CC2 is a compromise between good wear and handling with better snow traction. If this was my S4, I would never have gotten these tires. I would have gotten at least the PS 4 AS but that would be my second choice. The PS 4s would be my first. I wouldn't sacrifice performance on that car. Too much fun to drive when it is running right.
