hmmmm... i emailed the attorney general and FTC, maybe they can answer, only thing i could find is...
Q: Is there a time limit in which you have to charge a customer's credit card?
A: You have one year from date of purchase to charge a card. To confirm this, call the 1-800 number for merchant services for whatever card you want to charge (eg.Visa/MC) and ask a customer service representative. For example, if the card is a Visa, call 800 555 1212 and ask directory assistence for Visa Merchant Services.
Some business people would choose to err on the side of not billing the customer no matter what the time is. As long as you have a reasonable basis to collect funds, it should be billed, but consider the amount, if it's small, let it go because even if you wait 8 months you can get a chargeback which theoretically could cost you more than the charge.
i don't want to dispute, i paid for something i used, just wondering why it hasn't showed up...2 months and a week later, i don't want to call cause last time i did that i was waiting for a $367 charge from an insurance company, 2 months later i call up and ask them about it and they said "well, we don't see anything pending, theres nothing in our system that indicates a charge" 2 days later bam there it is on my online statement.... my grandma said about 5 years ago she bought a $600 stereo with a CC and she never got a charge, still to this day.... i wonder why this happens
