creaking/knocking sound from engine bay....

I have a friend who asked me what this noise was and I had no idea, even when I heard it.

When he accelerates from a stop, gently, there is a creaking/rattle that comes from the engine bay that sounds like it is just on the other side of the firewall from the pedals. Would this likely be a motor mount or transmission mount of some kind? It doesn't sound serious but my friend says it is getting annoying.

His car is under warranty and he will be taking it in but he wants to try and give the dealer a good starting point at finding the noise and fixing it.

Any help/thoughts would be appreciated.

it is a 2007 4cyl accord with ATX.

A dealer will listen raptly to a customer describing symptoms, but he'll ignore anything that sounds like a diagnosis.

For years, we had to endure customer's telling us it was "probably the carburetor" for any engine ailment. The only name they could remember.

so no one has any guesses? It would just be nice to have an idea instead of getting the car back after the dealer says, "we are clueless and have no idea what you are talking about." That is always a frustrating feeling.
