Craftsman Microtork Torque Wrench

The Craftsman Microtork torque wrenches are on sale during Black Friday for half price, which works out to $40. (Normally $80)

I was thinking about picking up one of each: a 3/8" drive for 20-250 in. lbs, a 3/8" drive for 10-75 lbs and a 1/2" drive for 20-250 lbs.

I'll probably use them a few times a year at most. Considering the occasional use and the low price, would they be worth a shot?

I've had a 3/8" for about 8 years. it's not the microtork, but it is click type. I use it the way you probably will, and it has worked great.

Also, tonight on the website they should be 1/2 off with an additional 5 or 10%

Careful on those plastic lock rings. I broke my 3/8 one (inlb). I like the 1/2 lock up much better.

I've used that exact 1/2" torque wrench for about 10 years. it works great for typical DIY car maintenance.

The 1/2" is only for 20-150 ft-# not 250 ft-# max. I was suprised to then see the 3/8" with 20-250 ft-#.

benjamming, that was 250 lb-in, not 250 lb-ft of torque.

I was also thinking of one of these -- to replace my aweful Harbor Freight one. Looking at the reviews, these may not be much better.
