Well an update to my mower the new hydro lasted a month and then started jerking/jumping very badly. Sears did me right by sending me a new mower. I "UPGRADED" to the manual transmission version YS4500 for a few $100 more and am completely satisfied with the way they handled things.

Good deal! I always liked the top speed of a gear drive anyway for road gear or super smooth mowing. I love the hydro drive on my cub cadet 2544, but she is slowwwwww, especially in reverse.
