With Ford-who currently has an issue with rusty under body components on the F-150 coming out of Dearborn, is now putting together pickups with parts missing, planning on going back and finishing assembly once the parts arrive. This, from a company that historically has a myriad of issues with any first year redesign. What could possibly go wrong?

I think the automakers adapted quickly so as to not shut down production entirely. Robots don’t abide by the spacing rules anyway.

The bigger issue for automakers has been suppliers. In particular the recent chip production shortage has affected assembly lines far more than COVID has. In one case I believe a fire at a Japanese plant has affected chip production greatly.

My Jeep was built last October, I have yet to find any manufacturing defects...and that's an FCA 😂
Mine was built in 3/20. This was the only assembly-related defect I found:

I have a 2020 RAM 1500 Laramie, built last August. Rear body bolts slightly loose was the only manufacturing defect I found. Going to order a 2021 Limited tomorrow because trade on my truck is $4100 more than I paid and 0% saves $2500+. So I can get out of a truck I don't love the driving characteristics of and make a profit.
