Costco battery?

Is JC still/currently making the Costco batteries?

Just bought a 24F battery for the kid's car (98 Camry) and don't see anything on the label for make. Hope it's not Exide. Dated 1/14. Threw it on the Deltran Tender Plus, checked it an hour later and it's was already in float.
Also wanted to get a 40R for wife's Escape but they don't stock any 40 or 96 group size, so guess off to AZ tomorrow to get one of their Duralast.
Both vehicle batteries are 5-years old so I'm replacing them.

Prices gone up some from 5 years ago. I'll do my DD battery hopefully next year when it's 5 years old.

It's not an Exide and is ranked very high by CR. They're very good batteries. Use with confidence. Kirkland should be the name.

Yep...they are still manufactured by Johnson Controls. Sam's Club is selling Duracell brand batteries made by East Penn which are about as good as JC. I agree that Exide batteries leave much to be desired.

Thanks - wished Costco had the size for the wife's Escape, I would have brought two. So I'll get her a Duralast tomorrow, probably a higher cost but oh well.
And I'll drop the Costco battery in the Camry tomorrow.
And yes the battery is labeled Kirkland.
I like to put the batteries on the tender as least over night before dropping in the vehicle (battery was 12.7 volts before I put the Tender on it).

Do Costco ever have Utility Batteries for Ride on Lawnmowers etc.?

They are not on the shelf at our local branch.

At the Costco I went to, they did have one rack (about 4 or 5 tier rack/shelves) of misc. batteries (riding tractor, deep cycle, marine etc.). Maybe another Costco?

On the auto/truck batteries, they had 4 racks of various batteries, but some racks/shelves had like 2 or 3 rows of the same battery group size limiting a larger number of group sizes that they could have available. Like the 24F battery I picked up, there about 4 rows of them. I nabbed one with the latest date (1/14) as there were some 12/13 24F batteries too.
I'll be going to AZ this morning to get a Duralast for the wife's SUV, might as well get the Duralast Gold over the standard as I always hope to get 5 years use out of a battery.

At my Costco they moved all the batteries to the tire center. If they don't have one in the size you need they might be able to get one in on their next delivery. When I was at Sears Auto and we used JCI for our battery vendor we could add part numbers to our stock order for customers.

Just got the 2nd battery @ AZ.
Was going to get the Duralast Gold (group 96) but it had 95 minutes reserve, and the non-gold (group 40R)is 105 minutes reserve.
Both same CCA and the non-gold was a little cheaper.
I thought the Gold would be on top - so don't know what they mean for the Gold.
Rewards + military retired brought it down in price making it comparable to Costco price. $82.05

I tried to have order the giant group size 49 for my E430, they didn't carry it and can't order it.

The problem with Costco battery and tires is you must be a paying member to claim warranty.

Kirklands seem to be a very good value with a good warranty. I want to say 2-3 years free replacement?

The girlfriends dad put one on their Navigator after the original died after 8 years. He really likes it and seems to be standing up to the extreme cold this year quite well.

It's all I personally buy when I replace batteries on my cars.
I just replaced the battery in my Civic with a Costco battery and it's working great. I am sure it's JCI.

In my area, Costco seems to have the best prices and a good warranty, so they're my first pick for batteries

It's a 36/100 warranty. 36 months 100%, then a sliding % scale out to 100 months. Bought many, very good value. Their application chart is not the best. Take measurements and you can usually find one that fits even if not listed for your car. This is true at many other sellers also.

When I take the core/old battery back, I'm going to at least mention about expanding the group availability. There was just a limited group size batteries - to many within a group. Probably won't do any good, but who knows how many other may have said something.
Also, I think the core charge @ Costco was $9. Although that's no amount to bother with, I don't want to hold a 5-year old battery in the garage I may never use again.
