Cost for income tax services, standard form no deductions

TurboTax got me for ~$79 plus tax (LOL) for Federal, State and E-file this year.

I lost interest in trying to find the "free" sources a few years ago. Once you get though it, you find out you have to pay for your state anyway, or they don't offer your state at this time, etc. I'll pay the $80 for the 20min it takes to wrap it all up from the comfort of my home.

It sounds like you've got a straightforward tax situation, so that quote does seem steep. Have you tried negotiating with the firm?

I'd hope the OP got this sorted out already or they'll be needing an attorney in addition to tax preparation help
