Looking for some new tires for my 2012 Ford Explorer. It came with Michelins Latitudes HP but they are a little pricey. I was looking at these Coopers they have very good reviews. I can get all 4 shipped, mounted and balanced for $600 with price match and rebate? The size is 245-60-18 and they are rated for 70,000 miles? I sure could use any opinions on this tire and deal? The wife drives 70% freeway and 30% streets. Thanks!!

While Cooper's are a good tire , you'll need to consider they were just bought by a Indian Tyre Co.
So.... how long will they make them in the U.S.A. vs India.

Because the manufacture of the tires continues to be in the U.S. and wages are paid in USD to U.S. workers!

When & if that changes I would reconsider, but for now...Enjoy your popcorn.

It's a good tire...

Ignore the [censored] off people....people act like Cooper had much of a choice...

Some of us just see the bigger picture more clearly i guess. It goes a lot deeper than Some worker temporarily keeping their jobs.
The popcorn is just fine.

The OP asked about tires and i pointed out a great alternative in the same price class.
If you don't like my point of view on the take over of Cooper by a third world company thats okay but it may or may not be relevant to the OP.

They are "OK" but wouldn't be my 1st choice. However, if you like Cooper and want to use them go for it. Cooper tires are generally good. If you can find a local Mastercraft dealer the Courser HSX Tour is very similar and may be a little less money? Mastercraft is owned by Cooper and is their cheaper line. Still good tires.

Not a lot of really good tires in that size out there. However, I would recommend the Firestone Destination LE2 like the other member did. I tthink it would be a much better tire. They have a $50 rebate right now so you should be able to get them close to that $600 price if you can do price matching.

I put the CTS on my 2011 Tahoe. Very good tire for the money. They rode quiet, handled nicely, and had little wear after 15k miles when I traded it. Don't hesitate for a second buying them.

What you can do is grow up and stop trolling the guys thread.
There is another thread about this, try posting in that one.

All you have contributed in this thread is "good tire" and take umbrage at my question.
