Looking for opinions on Cooper Tire quality. Are they a good Brand overall with Quality Control or are they or Yokohama just a value brand . I have read the reviews on some sites, but a major online review site does not carry Cooper Tires nor review them. I am also looking for opinions on the Yokohoma Avid Ascend. I have had the Michelin MXV4 in the past and thought they were great until they started dry rotting within around 1 1/2 years. I had the same experience when I bought a newer vehicle with practically new tire with the same dry rot issue on the MXV4 My size is 235/60/17 and will see 0-100+ degree temps with some snow and ice dedicated snow tires wont be needed.

I would recommend the Yokos over the Coopers, we have had both on the Uplander and the Yokos seems to wear better. In fact one of the Coopers split open. We replaced them with Yokos.

It's a toss up...they are about the same. In fact, these are the only two other brands besides Michelin branded tires that I am considering.....

oilstudent24,

For what vehicle are these tires for? I have personal experience with 235/60/17 tires on three different vehicles (two of which I own).

One of the vehicles is a 2012 Toyota Sienna XLE FWD that came with factory OEM Michelin Primacy MXV4 tires. They did not last long. The replacement was Bridgestone Dueler Ecopia 422 tires which have held up well to date.

We also had a 2006 Saturn VUE AWD V6 with the same size tires. Factory was Bridgestone Dueler 684 II which lasted 25,000 miles before a nail did them in. We replaced them with Michelin Energy LX4 from Costco.

I have co-workers with the same Saturn VUE that have recently purchased Firestone Destination LE and are happy with them.

These were the Michelin Primacy MXV4s Both having cracking issues. Treadware on one vehicle would have equaled a little over 30,000 miles if wear is linear. Mostly highway driving and the Rotations were regularly scheduled.

Have a 2012 Sienna LE. I also was looking at the Continental Contipro-Contact Eco. It is wierd how Discount Tire Direct has some tires that Discount Tire Walk in stores do not have. Also Tirebuyer is out of the ECO. I wish the Michelin LTX MS2 waws available in the exact size but it isnt. I was wondering if the Continental gave anyone good service on this vehicle.

I have 215-70-15 Cooper CS4s on my Town & Country, and they've been superb. 65,000 on them now, and not a single problem - worn evenly, great traction wet or dry and great road feel. They won't make 80,000 like they're rated, they're getting pretty close to the wear-marks now.

Very good tires - I'd be replacing them with more CS4s if I hadn't gotten a great deal on some Hankook Optimo H727s.

Tire Rack has some reviews on the Continental ProContact with EcoPlus including a few on the last generation Sienna (2004-2010). Their own tests on the Avid Ascend commented that wet traction could have used some improvement.

I've been very happy with the Bridgestone Dueler Ecopia 422s on our Sienna. They are H-rated and as a crossover/SUV-oriented tire--I feel they are better suited to the weight of the vehicle. Our Sienna is used as the kid-hauler (primary city miles, with the occasional 1,000 mile family road trip). We live in NJ and have had the tires in rain and light snow.

One more alternative to consider may be the Firestone FR710s. They are also OEM on the Sienna and several folks here have commented that they were happy with the tires.

I put a set of these 215-70-15 Coopers on our 05 caravan and they are great so far, they actually get good traction in slush and snow. I'd buy another set in a minute.
