If not, do so immediately.

I think he noted near the end of the original post that the tire was replaced, no questions asked.

Alot of CS4 bashing here. We have them on two of our vehicles, even my Passat. It does awesome in the snow. Also has the "M+S" on the side whether or not that matters. CS4 Touring H/V rating.

WoW I would have never taken a chance driving anywhere with a tire like that.
If I was leaving town the next day (family or myself), and they didn't have another in stock of the same as replacement, I would have another new set of something good put on, but that's me. Or delay leaving two a day or 2 if possible.
You can't see the tires while going down the road and all it takes is to get worse and something bad can happen fast, I just couldn't do it. Just the thought of going around a mountain curve and have a blow-out.... oh no no no.
But glad you all made it okay.

Why derail the thread? Is there any proof that the production of the cs4 model has moved overseas yet? There's a big difference between dumping overseas junk and stealing jobs versus a statistical defect or better, something that was user error like here.

If/when cooper stas shifting production to India, and/or quality slips or there are no interesting better tires, I may sing a different tune.

Quite an interesting perspective you have there! You would be the first one to jump on this if this was made overseas. Essentially, in your opinion, an overseas made item does not get the same benefit of doubt that US made item would get *regardless* of any other factor.

And is that what I object. Evaluate a situation on its own merit rather using some preconceived notions.

I object to paying the same price for a third world product as a first world one (see vw Jetta vs rabbit), I object to paying third world laborers to do work while I pay idle hands here unemployment when their factory was offshored, and I object to dumping third world garbage product when local made stuff is readily available.

Darn right I'd be on it if it were some no name chinesium/Indian tire dumped on the market. Because I have no idea of the quality, qa, or anything else. I've rigorously questioned cooper on that prior to buying two sets of cs-4 tires, so I know just a little about them.

Apples and oranges. I'm pro domestic and first world manufacturing, and not some chinesium junk product shill. Unfortunately the buying habits of most make it harder and harder. Probably the same 47% that don't pay taxes and then complain about no jobs and want handouts.

STill would buy a set of CS4s until otherwise proven...

When you guys have proof of the plant closure (via like a picture), please let me know....

Agreed. No indication of changes (yet). While I'd prefer that cooper/Apollo paid all their taxes here, until I see a plant closure, they are still in consideration. I don't avoid Yokohama (us made) because they are Japanese.

Cs4 is a good tire, installation was the culprit for this issue, case closed.
