Cooper bad quality control????

Ever since I put some Coopers on my car, the tire noise was pretty bad. After 20,000 miles, I checked the tire which had a lot of tread left; HOWEVER, the treads were uneven!! it seems like the machinery to make the tires were bad. I'm not talking about uneven wear, I'm talking about uneven treads! On ever other tread block pattern, one block is higher than the other block like it's some sort of mud tire (these are performance all seasons).

Anyone else have had bad tires in the past? It's very shameful because this tire is Made in the USA and I expected a flawless Q.C. tire.

Tire companies do revise treads within the same line so I'm wondering if whatever place you got them from sold you a set that consists of different age tires.

I bought a set of Cooprer Cobras and they were the worst. The dealer set me up with a set of Bridgestones after three tire separations. He explained they are a bad tire and they won't sell any more of them. They were cupping the outer tread blocks & getting noisy as well

what kind of vehicle where they on? What kind of mileage is on the vehicle? Shocks/struts, alignment, rotations, etc.

Cooper Cobra as mentioned by Willix. The only good thing about this tire is extremely long tire wear. They still look brand new. but the tread blocks are uneven and jagged. It's the first time I ever seen someting like this. My next tires are going to be Korean-Made Kumho ASX

Sad part is , I'm now hearing the same thing about the Cobras too..sounds like Cooper is getting rid of them though.

The quality control was not limited to the cobra model. It was some time ago I bought those tires. You would think improvements would happen. Other Cooper tire models are raved about.

this doesn't sound like a tire issue. sounds more like worn suspension components

Tires normally wear evenly, and uneven wear is usually the result of either alignment well out of spec, or wear in the vehicle's suspension.
FWIW, I have had only one set of Cooper tires.
They had just been put on the '97 Accord when I bought it.
They were Trendsetters, and were very quiet and soft-riding.
Rain and snow performance were okay, and they lasted 70K.
I wouldn't have bought them myself, but they did okay.

Every other block types of wear is usually due to over inflation and worn strut/shock/bushing.

Just my experiences . . . I tried CS4s on my Subbie & all 4 were out of round. I've talked to a friend that owns a Tire Shop & he has problems w/ Cooper's being out of round.
