Cooling the air conditioner coils with water?

Ima do this. I have a hot/cold spigot next to my condenser - hot in the winter, cold water in the summer. Thanks.
Scale buildup or anything corrosive in the water might be a problem
A window air conditioner uses water from the evaporator coil to spray onto the condenser coil.
The evaporator coil would be mineral and chemical free water
When using public or private well water that might be an entirely different scenario. He almost acknowledges that with the filter of unproven capabilities.
The theory sounds great and why it works so well with window air-conditioning but that is pure water extracted from the air not from a public water supply or private well
I do find it intriguing and yet concerning because HVAC units are not cheap

Once or twice a year I'll take a garden hose and hose down the condenser coil to remove dust, dirt, grass clippings, etc. I always cut the power first. The 220v connection in the back of the unit isn't 100% waterproof. Yes, the odds of getting water behind the metal panel are slim but the power line coming up from the bottom usually has a gap. Call me overly cautious.
