The chemical ingredients in antifreeze/coolant are quite stable and virtually never degrade. I have a feeling that these "shelf lives" are meant for the retailers to stop them from hoarding the product. A consumer will not buy a product with a clear expired date. So it solves that problem nicely IMO.
Indefinate. I have used open 10 year old coolant without any issues.
Gosh, I hope there isn't. I did a flush and fill of my sons Kia with 10 year old coolant, brand new in bottle, but 10 years old. Seems to be fine.
Coolant will not degrade, but the additives like water pump lubrication will, but when will degradation take place I have no clue.

Leaving them in direct sunlight does something though...
Idiot neighbor left 3 unopened bottles outside the barn door for a full northeast year, in the sunlight.
When I used them finally the coolant was clear and cloudy (concentrate zerex g05).
He didn't care, therefore I didn't.
2 years later, functions fine.

Sealed container? Indefinitely.
Open container? For top offs due to ever so slight consumption, coolant system work, or "I've got a leak and I need to get this thing to the shop!"? Until you need another flush in a few years. After the flush, I'd suggest turning it in as if it were used coolant.
Some of these coolants, especially Dex-Cool, don't age well when exposed to air, and GM somehow didn't seem to think this was a problem, so if the bottle is open, consider the clock "ticking" just like the stuff that's in your system now.
Other coolants aren't so bad, but especially "Don't pour from a really old open Dex-Cool."
I am sure the boiling and freezing points are fine, but the phosphated or silicate antirust may start degrading very very slowly. I know that Toyota and most Japanese cars recommend 10y and 5y after that. Meanwhile, European cars like VW never has clear coolant drain interval. Although, the coolant makers who create it for VW (Pentosin) clearly recommen every 5y. It is just like ATF for life = until warranty expired

Surprised to see relatively new Prestone Platinum premium 15 yr life coolant turned clear. After doing a flush and refill of cooling system I had about a pint left over in a 1 liter clear plastic bottle on passenger seat exposed to the sunlight. In about 10 days to 2 weeks the antifreeze turned completely clear so it looked like water, will test it to see if the freeze protection is still as rated. Must be normal then that the color fades when exposed to sunlight.
Because the 'search function' on BITOG sucks. I use 'Google' instead.

Yes its good, you can also test it for the level of the freeze protection with coolant/antifreeze tester, the small glass tube with balls in and a rubber suction bulb at top allows small amt of fluid and number of balls sinking or floating tells freeze level protection. If its not diluted 50/50 with water you may need to to dilute it before testing although for filling the reservoir your manual may tell you to put it in without dilution.
