My Easter gift to myself arrived today: a set of Continental TrueContact in 195/65R15 for my '05 Corolla LE. Took advantage of the $70 rebate and a great online price at Tires-Easy.

Gonna get them installed Friday. They look great sitting on the living room floor. Date codes 0717 and 0917, made in Illinois, (A3 factory code) tread depth 11/32" as advertised.

These are the top-rated touring tire at Tire Rack and get great reviews. Supposedly great wet and snow traction for an all-season, pretty good dry traction, long treadlife, smooth ride but also relatively decent handling. Plus an affordable price with careful shopping. And made in the USA in this size.

Makes me wonder what is the catch....will find out soon. Anyone run these tires?

Just put a set of these on my Malibu a few months ago. (215/60/16) i love these tires. U could be doing 70 in the rain and u could never tell u were driving in the rain. And they are a beast in the snow, they just plow the snow with no problems. I had a set of them in my impala for 30k before i traded it in and i loved them.

I had a bad experience with these tires. After 4 years they were horribly dry rotted and I had to replace them. They were OEM on my 2002 Volvo. Hopefully aftermarket tires are made differently.

The TrueContact didn't exist in 2002. They've only been out a few years.

And yes, aftermarket tires are very different from factory-installed tires, even those that share the same name and look alike

Im glad you are enjoying them! I am looking to use these for replacement tires for the OEM Michelin's on the terrain and newer Equinox.

Conti owns General now, there's bound to be some cross pollination. I have four Conti tires on a Camry, they are very good in the rain.

These are one of the tires I'm looking to get for my son's Elantra. With the $70 rebate they come out to be about the same price as the General RT 43. The reviews on Tire Rack seem to mostly favorable especially in the wet/snow category. Hope they work out well for you!

The ProContacts I had on my 2002 V70 did GREAT.
My sister loves her TrueContacts on her 2012 Mazda3 hatchback.

I have come to be impressed with Continental tires to the point where I'd default to them if I had no product data.

Since your tires are in the living room (been there, done that) you can stack 'em up, bend over and stick your head in the hole like an ostrich.
'Tis a great smell. Kira

Ah, yes, smells like victory....tires are installed on my Corolla now. Firestone has $50 off lifetime alignment till Sunday so I went there. Got them mounted and balanced, with lifetime alignment and free rotation, for just under $210. Great deal. Sold the old tires to a used tire shop on the way home. (Plus saved the disposal fee.)

Took a quick ride to the store to get a feel for the Contis. Definitely smoother than the 5/32" Hercules tires they replaced. Had no chance for quick turns etc. but steering response was fine for a T-rated touring tire.

Will update down the road. Thanks for the good wishes, all.

I only have 8000 miles, but they performed well in the rain, light snow, and were quiet and comfortable on the interstate for 2000 miles at 75 mph.
Good luck with yours.
