Constant EZPASS texts - scam

I am constantly getting EZ PASS scam texts from an odd number, I report and block every one but the number seems unblockable.

I haven’t been in IL in a decade and did not ever have ez pass and always paid the tolls.

Seems like a really stupid scam and worse I can’t seem to block the number

I get them a couple times a week.

If you go to our local toll website in NC, they have it right on their homepage NOT to click on these texts.

There are some real SCUM bags in the world.

We get them too. The sending number for us usually starts with 63 which is the country code for the Phillipines. Pure scam.

We're getting the same scams with SunPass here in Florida.

My friend, who doesn't own a car (and no SunPass) is getting these notices. So the scammer is basically sending them out to everyone.

Are the texts claiming to be from actual EZ Pass, or from I-Pass? If from IL they would be I-Pass. Obviously since it is a scam they are from neither.

I get them, too. It will go on for a few months until enough people get wise then it will taper off for a while and something else will take it's place.

I'm hoping the phone companies figure out how to use AI to put these jokers out of business.

Same here.... Mine is from Indiana and checking just now on the Indiana EZ Pass page it says "FRAUDULENT TEXT AND CALL SCAM ALERT: The Indiana Toll Road does NOT send out text messages or call customers requesting unpaid toll payments."

I also noticed they don't even have my cell phone number listed in my profile. Just my land line. LOL Maybe the scammers are sending texts to my land line!

These are called "smishing" scams. Claim to represent all manner of various toll roads, DOTs, etc ...
