Might want to re-read the OP. He's not having problems connecting to the Toilet Paper Link, he was trying to get internet straight from the media converter.

It could be locking in on a single MAC address. I've heard of some access points that can spoof a different MAC address if some gateway is fixed to a set MAC address.
