Can somebody explain to me?
The description
Step 1 : Change oil
step 2: put in Auto-RX
Step 3 Cleaning phase, drive for 1500mil.
Step 4: Rinsing phase, change the oil and filter
Step 5: Completion phase, Oil and filter should be changed approx. 2-3K miles.
My understanding is
Phase 1: change oil and filter, put in Auto-RX, drive for 1.5k miles.
Phase 2: Change oil and filter, drive for 2-3K miles.
Done.
The cleaning, rinsing, completion phase is kinda of confusing.
Thank you for your clarification.

They want you to change the oil and filter and put the auto-rx in there. Drive for 1,500 miles, then change the oil and filter and drive for another 1,500 mies, then you can change out the oil and filter and you are done.

The confusion is that you may have to wait until "beyond the rinse phase" to see the results that you want. This is typically noted in the seal reconditioning comments, IIRC. It requires no action ..so, yes, you're effectively done after you swap out the rinse phase oil.

So you're soaking/cleaning
removing residuals/rinsing
allowing softened seals to relax.

The notation is to allow you the proper perception of effectivness in some applications. Most see more immediate and timely results.

On a standard cycle, you don't have to change the oil on the first clean phase. And it can be ANY oil. As long as it has 1,500 miles left in it, it is enough to just change the filter and add the ARX. But I think you can sometimes get better results with fresh dino from the start, and this seems to be consistent with the more severe condition instructions.

Apparently, some instances may require some extra operation after the entire process is finished for some leaks to stop, so Gary is right here. I don't view this situation as a separate phase requiring the same level of attention, as the cleaning and rinsing is done. I've yet to encounter a leak that didn't moderate during the clean phase, but my experience with the stuff is limited.

Frank obviously knows his product best.

Servantwong you have a seal leak I believe.Per the application after all the cleaning and rinsing (2complete applications for engines over 100,000 miles) you need to drive up to 3000 miles with nothing but "Dino" Oil (no Auto-Rx-no oil additives)) in order to restore pliability for snug fit of the seal and stop leak. We don't know exact mileage leak will stop, but stop it will unless seal is ripped or torn.

REplace the oil for Auto-RX.

Don't put a full load of oil in and THEN add the autoRX.

Substitute the equal volume of oil with the treatment.

Thanks for your time to explain. My camry has 150K, so the correct procedure is as follow?

Step 1, cleaning: Change oil (Supertech) and filter, put Auto-Rx, drive for 1500 miles (still in this process, now 1000miles)

Step 2, rinsing: Change oil(Supertech) and filter, drive for 2000-3000miles

Step 3, cleaning: Change oil (Supertech) and filter, put Auto-Rx, drive for 1000 miles

Step 4 rinsing: Change oil(Supertech) and filter, drive for 2000-3000miles

Do I need to repeat step 2 before step 3 as completion phase?

I just added Auto-RX to my 2001 Odyssey and in comparison realize how dirty my camry is. With the oil cap open, i can see the silver finish inside for my honda engine. But for camry it is a black hole. Scary!

In step three I would run at least 1500 miles, perhaps 2000 miles better on your second cleaning application. Running only 1000 miles will be cutting the 2nd cleaning cycle too short.

My question would be why mix chemistries at this point. Let the Auto-Rx do its job. Then when you are totally finished with your double clean and rinse, use LC in the recommended ratios with your new oil.

Vetteman, because there are members putting ATF in their gas tanks! LOL

Was that a smackedxxx additive folklore crazy joke? That sounded awfully like a smackedxxx additive folklore crazy joke, if you ask me.

let me tell you something, this ATF MMO thing has done wonders for me, still have to change my fuel filter but **** my car starts without the starter even engaging

Hello! I have a 2000 Honda Odyssey and a 1997 Camry (4-cyl). I don't know what year your Camry is or if is 4-cyl or V6, but note that all of the recent Camrys have a black bumpy baffle that covers most of the oil-fill hole, supposedly for noise dampening and splash control. Because of this, in recent Camrys you cannot see the valve train unless you remove the entire valve cover. Touch it with your finger to see what I mean.

In contrast, the Honda allows a pretty good view!

Best Wishes as you motor along!
