My dad has a trip to St. Louis tomorrow for business, and for some reason his company is having him fly from Des Moines. I got his flight numbers to check his flights for him. He has a layover in Chicago. His flight from DM to Chicago is on time, but on Chicago O'hare's website, it says the flight to St. Louis is cancelled. However according to American Airlines site, the flight is on time. St. Louis airport also says the arriving flight from Chicago is cancelled. What do you think>

You have to be safe and go with the Airlines website. If you miss the flight, you are in trouble. So I would definitely show up and be there early to go through security etc. Hope your father has a good trip!

I think dad needs to confirm the flight and make some alternative arrangements with another airline if it does get cancelled before he ends up sleeping in a Chicago hotel.

Thanks guys, chubbs1, fortunately, Chicago is just a layover so no security involved, only in Des Moines where the airport is always empty.

haha, I think it is set up with his company that if the flight gets cancelled, they will put him on a later plane, but we'll confirm it im sure

It would be best for him to call reservations to find out the story, and have them rebook him. He could do it at the airport but it's better to know in advance.

Good luck calling.
Use the airline's website.
He can view his trip details and he may have already been rebooked.
If he's routed from ORD to STL, I would assume that he's on AA.
STL used to be an AA hub, inherited when AA bought TWA.
AA should be able to either get him on another flight, route him indirectly to STL from ORD, or interline him.
Today would be the time to find out, and AA's website would be the place to look.

Have him check in online at aa.com. He can do so 24 hrs before... It will confirm his flights.

Cool!
Never fun dealing with uncertainty in air travel.
The airline always knows best.
