I was given this Snapper yesterday, needs work, carb cleaned, pull start fixed, every linkage lubed etc. I will give it to a friend of mine who needs a good mower after Im done fixing it. How good are these newer Snappers?
Great for bagging. Multiple speeds. Fair for mulching. Side discharge good with chute. Worth restoration.I was given this Snapper yesterday, needs work, carb cleaned, pull start fixed, every linkage lubed etc. I will give it to a friend of mine who needs a good mower after Im done fixing it. Absolutely! It fits a 12 oz. can of your favorite beverage perfectly.Nice gvx engine. Does that thing have a cup holder?
MTD never owned Snapper. Simplicity bought Snapper in the early 2000's, then B&S bought Simplicity in the mid 2000's, then B&S also bought Murray and came out with a line of Snapper branded cheap Murray mowers to sell at the discount stores. B&S closed the original McDonough Georgia Snapper plant in 2015 and the genuine snappers went away afterwards.I owned a 2010 model year Snapper Ninja commercial series mulcher. You could configure it to bag, but I kept it in mulch mode for it's entire life, which ended last year because the steel deck rusted through to the point it sagged and flexed. I admittedly didn't take good care of the underside of the deck. Look over the deck carefully on that one. Right around 2010 is when MTD bought out Snapper, so that was the start of the downward spiral IMO. In 15yrs, the only part I replaced on it besides filters was one obscure shoulder bolt that I lost somewhere in the lawn. I was able to mail order a replacement.
