Coming soon to a gas station near you. Now imagine the THX sound.

I wonder if TT will bump their membership fee rate once TT+ is established and cause more brands to drop their participation in the TT program? (e.g., bp)

Or if the stricter requirements will cause some brands to not meet TT+ ? I imagine the flagship brands of SHEL, XOM, and CVX will meet- and remain in- TT+ either way.

I'm not seeing why we'd be getting eye rolling and grumping; it's not like anyone around here grouses when they announce a new oil spec. This is no different- Top Tier gas is like any other performance standard, and changes as technology and needs increase.
Exactly.
Didn't Volkswagen coolant go from G11 to G12, then G12+, then G12++, then G12+++?
I don't know what came after that.

No doubt they will...and will be interesting to see who doesn't make the TT+ cut or drops out of TT altogether due to the change.

Seems like Top Tier has become irrelevant so I guess they decided they needed something to reinvigorate their 'brand'.
Not irrelevant but I do think that what it did was only enough for cars of that time. Gdi has really gotten mainstream and people are not good about using pea fuel system cleaners along with good operating habits so there was most likely a need to get a better formula out to the public.

Hopefully Costco will step up to this new Tier
They already have updated their gas to this + standard a few months ago. Updated for DI engines.
They haven’t posted the new stickers yet. When they upgraded their gas i posted a pic of the placard that stated it cleaned and kept clean intake valves on DI engines. Then the argument began. I will try to find the post.
