One of the most mindless piles of drivel ever broadcast. They had one shtick and just kept re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-rehashing it.

I always enjoyed the show, it was cutting edge at the time- pushing the limits of censorship, Fox was still a small broadcast co. at the time. This show helped put Fox on the map.

I have yet to see any British comedy that contained real comedy.

That's like watching "Three's Company" and being surprised when there's a misunderstanding.

Or there's an episode of "Dukes of Hazzard" where the sherriff is up to something crooked.

MacGyver has to build something out of a jello mold and dental floss.

Lamb Chops on the motorcycle show flips his lid and throws tools all around the garage.

Gilligan steps on a device made of palm fronds and coconuts that was going to get the castaways off the island for good, somehow.

Samantha's mom puts Darren under a spell and hilarity ensues until she figures out what really happened.

Jeannie meddles in Major Nelson's business but her ditsiness is eclipsed by her well-meaning.

I guess I like my escapist, predictable tv.

MWC was cutting edge satire: it beat "Roseanne" to air by about a year in lampooing, not celebrating the American family ideal. It was probably the most revolutionary show since "All in the Family". Also, unlike most modern (dysfunctional) sitcoms, the male head of household was the sane, smart, hardworking one.

A bunch of forgettable shows copied it's format, does anyone remember "Unhappily Ever After"?

Only if you were expecting educational value from a sitcom.

MWC was one of those Fox shows that you could watch and say, or think, "Did they really just say that!?" It was, literally, groundbreaking; as much as "All in the Family" was in the 1970's. The very first episode I watched was a Christmas special that guest starred Sam Kinison. Since I was an SK fan, I watched it. I though, at the time, that the show was a complete waste of time. I grew to appreciate it for what it was. It was a test of "the envelope" as the Air Force pilots used to say. Regardless of personal opinions, it was one of the milestones of television.

Twas the night before christmas, and all through the house,
no food was a stirring, not even a mouse.
Stockings were hung 'round dad's neck like a tie,
along with a note that said "presents or die".
Children were plotting all night in their beds,
while the wife's constant whining was splitting his head.
But daddy had money this year in the bank,
then they closed up early, now dad's in the tank.
...and all of a sudden Santa appeared,
a sneer on his face, booze in his beard.
Santa I said as he laughed merrily,
you do so much for others do something for me.
Bundy he said, you only sell shoes,
your son is a sneak-thief, your daughters' a flooze.
Ho Ho Santa said, should I mention your wife,
her hairs like an a-bomb, her nails like a knife.
As he climbs up the chimney, that fat piece of dung,
he mooned me two times, he stuck out his tongue.
And I heard him exclaim, as he broke wind with glee:
you're married with children, you'll never be free.
*********************************************
Who's that riding into the sun.
Who's the man with the itchy gun.
Who's the man who kills for fun!
Psycho Dad. Psycho Dad. Psycho Dad!
He sleeps with a gun, but he loves his son.
Killed his wife 'cause she weighed a ton... Psycho Dad!

Very few tv shows could make you laugh out loud like that one did.

One of my favorites.
