2015 Explorer 3.7L. Saw this in the morning. I had started it up and let the engine run for a minute or two before shutting of, then went to check something under the hood and noticed this. Not sure if it was like that before it ran but will check again tomorrow morning. Is this normal? It runs fine and doesn't overheat.

I'd replace that hose. That kind of vacuum being pulled on an engine isn't normal though. The expansion tank cap must have a vent on it somewhere that is plugged.
Not exactly the same as a radiator cap, which I would assume is on the radiator. But maybe the term is now used to describe both parts.
The hose seems to have lost some strength though, and some used to have a coil of wire inside that may be gone due to corrosion. Those were usually on the lower (suction) hose in the past. It bears further investigation.

6 year old hose rubber should still be flexible enough to take that flexing. I don't think about replacing radiator hoses until the car is over 15 years old. The rubber used these days holds up much better than it did 50 years ago.
