anybody ever use coastal semi syn? i found a local oil company that can pour some in a 5 gal bucket for me for $46.87 or $1.87 a quart. Seems like a very good deal. I did a search, its made by warren unilube which i have heard makes lots of other brands.

Im just wondering if anyone knows if this particular formulation is good or not and how many miles i might safely get for oci's. i have no luck doing searches for used oil analysis on this site.

thanks!

I would be leary of buying oil branded "Coastal." Just not sure how the quality control, or quality in general would be.

At least in 2003 it was not getting the best review here: Coastal Thread
But maybe they have been bought out and improved since then. A lot can happen in 10 years.

Seems like more trouble than it's worth, but that's just me.

That said, Coastal, like anything else that's API certified, should be fine for a 3k OCI at least.

I'd say take it.....that's not a bad price

Though, may want to consider a VOA before you go putting it into a vehicle

Couldn't hurt anyways.....
