I've tried other atfs like supertech dexIII and advance auto dex/merc they worked ok.

This is what folks need to be aware of MaxLife is generally designed for vehicles that have are 10 years old or less. Older vehicles that were never designed with synthetic fluid in mind (or very thin fluid) will not fare well with this fluid.

I would personally recommend NOT using a synthetic ATF in any vehicle more than 10-12 years old UNLESS that specific vehicle called for synthetic. Synthetic is NOT always better.

I don't really buy that because a mineral based DexronII will shear way lower than the Maxlife starting viscosity of 5.9 cSt with in a short period of time even though the Dexron will probably start out above 7 cSt. I'd rather have a shear stable fluid than one that's going to shear down to 4.5 cSt within 30,000 miles.

You could use Redline's High Temp Tranny fluid. It's supposedly spec'd as a Dexron 2/2e fluid.
Their Racing ATF is Type F.

I have it in my 22 year old car, and never have had a problem.
