Cleaning Funnels

Is there a water soluble cleaner/degreaser that will cut through NEW motor oil?

So basically spray the inside and outside of the funnel and then rinse out with water.

This method would be for the people who don't want to pay for the high price of brake cleaner.

CRC 14416 works about the best for me. I suppose using it with a melamine sponge would be even better.
They took it off the market a few years ago. I bought whatever Grainger had left; they marked it down for clearance.
Yeah, new engine oil sticks very well to plastic funnels.

What's the use of having a lifetime stash of oil without a lifetime stash of cleaner?

Wait we're talking about washing oil funnels? I've never washed one only wiped it down before use. The closest thing to a wash they get is gasoline when filling something up.

Straight Simple Green works well for cleaning oil residue.
