Cleaning Funnels

All kinds of different ways to clean a funnel. The fastest and most convenient way I suppose would be brake cleaner and compressed air.

That's if you have compressed air available and can afford the price of brake cleaner at over $6 a can just for cleaning funnels.

What other ways are there to clean a funnel?
Dishwasher when wife is out shopping.

I clean my "clean oil" funnel by using it to funnel gasoline 😁.
its plastic with a metal strainer in it.

Dirty oil funnel.. who cares.

Dawn at my outdoor kitchen sink - but by keeping them in zip locks or other plastic bags - they hardly need washing

I built this. I let them drain into the blue buckey and wipe them out before use.

In the old days with metal oil cans they used a pouring spout that would puncture the top of the oil can. When done you pulled it out of the oil cab and hung it over a trash can. Clean it after use? Why?

Blow the dirt, dust, and debris out with your own lungs and pour the oil. Shove a dirty rag in it when done to keep it from dripping. Worked for me for 30-ish years 🤷‍♂️
Same

With the shop towel, you're taking a chance on introducing micro particulates with a static charge to the plastic funnel.
Don’t care

I use disposable paper funnels for most oil fills. Or I form my own out of aluminum foil for weird configurations. The few funnels I have, get washed out with a mild degreaser and air dried. Works well enough for me and I always have a clean funnel.

Come on, let’s go to ten pages at least!!!

For me, I use the dishwasher of course, with the dishes inside so I don’t waste the energy. Then I use the plushies of my wife’s towels to gently wipe them down and then I seal them in an airtight ziplock bag. I also store them inside the house, not the garage as to not expose the funnels to the extreme temps we have here in TX.
