Clean new brake rotor with brake cleaner before install?

Just did rotors on my Atlas. Out of box onto vehicle. Never washed rotors prior to install.
That's what I have always done. I didn't see any warning about pad contamination on either the box of the pads or the rotors. I also am not sure if the factory would spray them like that when they build a new car, it would cost too much.

Here I am just doing a pad slap on the truck, OEM rotors with no rust or warping. First time I will be doing it but they are in such good condition I can't bring myself to throw them away, barely a wear ridge. I guess being in the flat south most of it's life was a real advantage.

Have always installed new brake rotors on my cars as is right out of the boxes, until today I saw a few videos on YouTube that people spray them down with brake cleaner then wipe down. Is that a common practice? or something not that common?
YES

Never installed Geomet rotors but my SOP with new/machined rotors is a bath in hot water and Dawn/Dr. Bronzer’s soap with a Scotch-Brite to knock down the metal filings and then chase them with brake clean after towel dry.

If the surfaces are not coated, then Super Clean full strength plus a stiff brush to remove the oils. Follow up with brake clean.

If the surfaces are coated and the pads are aggressive enough, then install as-is. Sometimes I'll use a roloc disc and buff off the coating.
