Hi folks, school boy error last night.

I set my claybar on a peice of sacrificial plastic that was on my rear seat and forgot about. It tipped over I guess while I was waxing the roof of my truck I guess and landed on the carpet. My garage is ~90° At night so it melted into the carpet/door jamb.

Any suggestions for removal? I did some degreaser and that helped a little but wondering if there is something else I can do that will work less abrasively than purple power+a drill brush. The carpet isn’t lush or super high quality so I don’t think it would look great if I went too gung-ho with the drill brush. It’s in a funky spot that’s hard for my extractor to reach as well.

Any advice appreciated I’ll follow up with photos when I can duck out of meetings and run down to the garage.

So an update let purple power Soak into the carpet area for an hour or 3 (can’t remember went inside to get on a conference call) hit it with the drill brush and the bar balled up and ejected from the carpet, shampooed and extracted the carpet so carpet is good.

Kick plate still was covered so I pulled if from the car and hit it with a bunch of drill brush at speed which got rid of a small amount. I went upstairs and started scraping off flakes with the end of butter knife which worked brilliantly. I used a sponge with a bit of scotch bright on the back. 95% of the way done threw the kick plate in the freezer to cool off and hopefully allow me to flake the rest of it. It looks fine and regardless if I can’t get it off this is a $25 part at a Nissan dealer. Brand new.

Photos attached sorry I forgot to take before photos of the carpet but it was equally as bad as the plate. 3A610C47-0E3C-4CA9-A49D-0529F78FCF03.webp438FA5A5-FB7B-447D-ADD6-AC97681EB782.webp247FA160-25DE-48D4-B797-ED2D4B6CD474.webp513CB98B-7C5B-484C-A13C-FF93CB5422A4.webpE61A9F23-C52F-4451-B88B-0634D201FDC1.webp
