As title says. D15B7 out of '94 Honda Civic pops both front and rear main seals at same time. Rear main seal was replaced less than 10k miles ago. Front most likely original seal. Made the switch about 4k miles ago to Mobil 1 0w-30. Car has 261k currently. Any conclusions why these would go at the same time?

Possibly increased blow by due to age. A compression or leak down check will determine if that is the case.

Maybe the PCV system is clogged up, and pressure builds inside the engine, blowing the seals out under high pressure.

leaking. not terribly but, the timing belt is a concern since the oil is leaking right on the belt.

just changed the PCV valve recently with.

the motor recently pulled 160psi across all four cylinders..

Are you getting proper vac to the PCV? Seen more than a few clogged PCV vac lines, and even carbon/gunk filled vac fittings in the intake manifold over the years.

If the front was original and u got 216k out of it then u are super lucky. If the rear failed at 216 it could be a cheap seal or poor install

Also check to make sure its not the camshaft seal that is leaking in the timing cover area

I have seen pcv gets blocked up but never on that honda motor caus e both seals to leak.
