Cirrus SR-22 saved by their Cirrus Airframe Parachute System over Bellevue, WA, 3/5/24.
What don't you like compared to your Dakota?not a huge fan of the airplane, but when I do fly one, I like having that handle up there!
Honestly? Aesthetics...I prefer steam gauges, (well mostly...have a moving map and looking at a digital backup attitude gyro+), rivets, yokes and aluminum. Flying is a hobby for me like driving vintage cars. I also found the Cirrus touchy to land until I got used to it, which I did. What don't you like compared to your Dakota?
Fair enough. I'm guessing with your steam gauge preference you aren't in IMC much. The composite structure and CAPS does set them apart for sure.Honestly? "Not a huge fan" probably sounds worse than my actual feelings, they are wonderful airplanes and the BRS is an amazing asset, but If I were spending SR22 money, I'd buy a Bonanza.
Not a lot, and won't be until I can dedicate more time to flying, though I never had a problem in the Dakota...its has an updated King and Gamin panel w/ KAP 150.Fair enough. You and I seem to have similar tastes with airplanes!Honestly? Explain how that would work and give an example of a "big" airplane accident that would have been averted thanks to a massive Parachute? All aircraft need that. Big ones too, and flotation systems too.

How would it be possible to get 500 passengers ( upper and lower decks ) out of a A380 using an ejection capsule?Sorry I watch too many air disasters shows on tv. Okay maybe having ejection capsules would be a better idea.
Yes it is safe to fly, but just in case, its nice to have a safety system.
With proper engineering and design work of course. How would it be possible to get 500 passengers ( upper and lower decks ) out of a A380 using an ejection capsule?
They don't have the technical expertise to accomplish that. With proper engineering and design work of course.
But boy would they sound better!Well, if we equipped airliners with massive radials - we would probably need parachutes for when they inevitably fail…
I just dead headed on a Dash 8 Q400 turbo prop , which is a lot quieter than any piston engine plane , and my ears are still bothering me from the noise. But boy would they sound better!
Been there - and seated at the wingI just dead headed on a Dash 8 Q400 turbo prop , which is a lot quieter than any piston engine plane , and my ears are still bothering me from the noise.
