So I used to smoke a lot of cigars. Life got busy and it’s been too long. I’m hosting a bourbon and cigar night in early April. Want to buy some cigars to provide to many who don’t smoke much at all. I’m outta the game, so help me pick some milder cigars that won’t break the bank!

Thanks

My Father Flor de las Antilles is my favorite “special treat” cigar. My regulars are from a local cigar maker in Ft. Myers FL. Buys his tobacco from Davidoff in Tampa.

If you buy by tomorrow you can use the 30% off code I posted for The Cigar Farm on orders of $150.

Here’s a couple solid & mild sticks from there:

Lampert El Gringo (my favorite Connecticut wrapper)

Somm BDX Blanc, too mild for me but great flavor

Somm Sampler:

ADV Queens Pearls:

Aladino is a great brand that punches way above their price point

Myself, I hit the dark side. Mostly Maduro like La Gloria, Olivia, CAO, Man of War, Diesel, especially Crown Undercuts but my cheapies are factory smokes. Bourbon is usually involved.

Still have some Anaconda and N La Gloria's sitting for a special day. All my neighbors fault during Covid...never smoked a day in my life before April 2020.
Cohiba and I got in Havana

^^ Ha,
I told the guys at work I was going to Quebec' City. One fellow asked me to fetch some Cohibas for him.
I strolled into a cigar shop and inquired about Cohibas. The proprietor said, ........
"Where do you think you are, Montreal?"

??? I figured Montreal must be a more "cosmopolitan" city...or one which caters more to cigar aficionados.
Is the Cuban embargo still in effect? Seems the Cohibas are readily available now.
...or are Cohibas made elsewhere now?

Embargo is still active for the US but Canada should still be importing. China took over Habanos S.A. a few years ago & adjusted world pricing points to the Hong Kong market (most expensive in the world) so prices are through the roof right now. Pricing alone will cause many shops to stop ordering.

There's also the Cohiba brand that's a South American brand owned by General Cigar. Two completely different companies & products. I tend to avoid anything produced by General or Altadis. There are plenty of other, great, new world cigars out there to support rather than the stuff being pushed by those two companies & the market disturbances they cause retailers & distributers.
